Research Interest

Since the beginning of my medical career I was interested in genodermatosis. A research project with a big Swiss family with “erythrokeratodermia figurate variabilis” targeting the phenotype allowed finding the place of the gen in collaboration with Prof Richard (NIH) and later determines the gen. As a consequence subsequent projects were conducted and helped establishing a network between Europe and the USA. Translational research, from basic research into clinic always fascinated me. A second focus is cell biology and wound healing, skin change in systemic diseases incl. HIV. Pediatric Dermatology is another interest of our.
