Comment / Explanation

Scars can be atrophic or hypertrophic.


Keloid is a scar, which proliferates beyond the bounds of the initial injury.


Spontaneous keloids develop without trauma.


Sclerosis is the result of spontaneous connective tissue proliferation (as in scleroderma).


Mucosa: Synechia or symblepharon.


Mutilation in dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa.

Surgical scars.


Burn scars.


Healed venous leg ulcers.


Dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa.
