Superficial epidermal defect with loss usually extending no further than papillary dermis.


Color: red.


Size: mm to cm.

Localisation

Location depends on etiology; may be isolated or localized.


Mucosal erosions.

Cours

Often covered with crust, on rare occasions may heal with dyspigmentation.

 

Associated with vesicles, bullae, pustules.

Commentaire / Explication

Superficial lesion which heals without atrophy or scarring because epidermis is capable of completely regenerating.

Dermatoses typiques

Impetigo, herpes simplex.


Epidermolysis bullosa simplex.


Pemphigus.


Bullous pemphigoid.

Physiopathologie

Inflammation, infection, trauma (scratching).
